Your first month on Wegovy: week by week

The 0.25 mg starter month is deliberately gentle. What each week feels like, and what to ignore.

Week 1: the first dose

The 0.25 mg starter dose is sub-therapeutic, its job is adjustment. Expect little appetite change and possibly mild nausea in the first couple of days. The pen routine is the real week-one win: choose your day, learn the clicks, done.

Week 2: subtle shifts

Fullness arrives a little earlier. Some people notice nothing at all and worry it is not working, normal. The working doses begin at 0.5 mg and above.

Week 3: habits worth building now

Week 4: the check-in

Your check-in weighs the month: weight trend, side effects, how eating feels. Most people step up to 0.5 mg. Some hold. Both are correct answers in the right circumstances.

Setting month-one expectations

Typical first-month loss is 2 to 3% of body weight. STEP 1's headline average of about 15% took 68 weeks, pace yourself against that arc, not against week two.
